The Ultimate Chicken Pita Recipe: A Healthy & Flavor-Packed Wrap Guide

  • Author: Camila
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 wraps

Description

Looking for a quick, protein-rich meal that doesn’t skimp on flavor? This Chicken Pita Recipe wrap is a Mediterranean-inspired favorite that’s packed with lean grilled chicken, crunchy veggies, creamy yogurt sauce, and all wrapped in a warm, fluffy pita. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or meal prep!

Ingredients

  • Chicken breasts – 2 (grilled or baked, thinly sliced)

  • Pita bread – 4 rounds (whole wheat or Greek-style)

  • Greek yogurt – ½ cup

  • Cucumber – 1 cup, chopped

  • Tomatoes – 1 cup, diced

  • Lettuce – 1 cup, shredded (Romaine or iceberg)

  • Feta cheese – ¼ cup (optional)

  • Lemon juice – 2 tbsp

  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp

  • Garlic – 2 cloves, minced

  • Salt & black pepper – to taste

🧑‍🍳 Optional add-ins: fresh dill, parsley, hot sauce, hummus, pickled onions

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl or ziplock bag, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken breasts and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor).

2. Cook the Chicken

Grill or bake the chicken until internal temp reaches 165°F (about 6–7 mins per side). Let rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.

3. Make the Yogurt Sauce

Mix Greek yogurt with lemon juice, a pinch of salt and pepper. Add dill or mint for a fresh twist. Optional: stir in 1 tsp tahini for extra creaminess.

4. Assemble the Pita Wraps

Warm pita rounds briefly in a dry skillet or microwave. Layer yogurt sauce, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, chicken, and a sprinkle of feta cheese.

5. Wrap & Serve

Fold and wrap in foil or parchment paper for easy eating. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 days.

Notes

  1. Pat veggies dry to avoid soggy wraps.
  2. Don’t overfill—leave space to fold and wrap.
  3. Use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  4. Great for lunchboxes—just keep sauce separate until ready to eat!
