Ditalini pasta – 1 cup
Olive oil – 2 tbsp (extra virgin for best flavor)
Garlic cloves – 2, minced
Cherry tomatoes – 1 cup, halved (or use canned diced tomatoes)
Parmesan cheese – ¼ cup, grated (optional)
Fresh basil – A few leaves, torn or chopped
Salt and black pepper – To taste
Reserved pasta water – ½ cup (optional, for sauce consistency)
Instructions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add ditalini and cook for 8–10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside (reserve ½ cup pasta water).
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Add cherry tomatoes and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they soften into a light sauce.
